Continuing on with my seasonal tradition …
Here is my fall 2008 to do list.
1) Finish lyrics for “Atlantis”
2) Finish lyrics for “Night Driver”
3) Finish tracking “Bits”
4) Mix “Bits”
5) Create “Bits” cover art
6) Digitally release Eureka Farm albums
7) Outline a new feature length script
8) Finish “No Escape!” video
9) Complete final post prod. for the “Combat” video
10) Outline a third music video for “Bits”
11) Finish “Armanium” VST
12) Release 1.0 versions of all BETA VST instruments
I have until December 21st to complete these items!

As summer comes to an end, I pause to check back with my summer 2008 to do list.
It looks like I completed 10 of the 17 items on the list. Most of the incomplete items pertain to my solo record “Bits”. Of course, it is behind schedule due to a number of factors. Some of those items might be eliminated anyway … I probably won’t replicate CDs.
I am also far behind schedule on my “Armanium” VST. I would love to get that one in the bag.
One huge accomplishment for me this summer was the completion of the “Combat” music video. That was a pretty big undertaking for me and my little computer.
Liz and I are still chugging away at the “No Escape!” animated music video and I hope to have that one done by the end of the year. I have decided to hold off officially releasing the “Combat” video until I have the record done. This means I may have at least two music videos ready to go by the time the record is available for purchase.

Well … it’s official:
I’m one of those crazy people that has stuff all over my walls now. Every song has its own piece of paper with a list of things left to do written on it. It covers the space in front of my desk with a translucent jumble of words like “vocals” and “drum clean up” scrawled out on tracing paper.
I love making “to do” lists and scratching things off of them as they get completed. Oh wait … tracing paper … does that mean when I scratch it out, it’s going to go right through to the wall?
I’ll test it out right now …
Apparently not..
As you can see, it is clearly lacking in the creepy factor. There are no pages torn from catalogs with cryptic writing on them … no strings connecting vague concepts or conspiracy theories. Maybe this means I’m doing ok. Or maybe I just need to work on my collage making skills.
I’m going to try to get at least one song completely tracked this week. Maybe with some luck, I’ll manage two.
After recording in la la land for two weeks, I need to write down my goals for the summer.
1) finish lyrics to the songs “Brain Games” and “Warlords” 08-08
2) finish recording guitars for “Bits”
3) finish recording vocals for “Bits”
4) create a guitar feedback VST combined
5) re-work my Hydrogen spectra VST combined
6) create ray gun based VST combined
7) bring all previous VSTs out of BETA status
8) create CD design for “Bits”
9) finish editing the “Combat” video 07-28-08
10) storyboard a second video for “Bits” 07-08
11) get a copy of my degree in Physics 08-25-08
12) get a job 08-21-08
13) update my resume 07-15-08
14) sell superfluous musical gear to buy more superfluous musical gear 07-13-08
15) mix “Bits”
16) master “Bits”
17) press “Bits”
I have until September 20th on the list. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
