… the return of the magical toolbox …

... the toolbox returns ...

Years ago, I constructed an analog multi-effects processor inside a toolbox. I built each piece and hand-wired the whole thing together in a haphazard and slightly electrically disturbing way.

Somehow, it managed to take the place of our toaster oven (it’s not doing any toasting) and it has been sitting on a kitchen table for months.

I’ve always planned to use this thing when I mix down “Bits”. One of the “tools” inside the toolbox is a phase cancelling stereo spring reverb tank. This thing sounds amazing. I mean … today’s plug-ins sound great too, but this thing is in its own realm. Anyone who has heard my album “The View” can attest to the fact that I love me a good reverb.

So … as I continued to plug away at the vocal tracks for “Night Driver”, I decided to promote the Magical Toolbox from toaster oven place holder back to multi-effects processor. It’s nice to hear it echoing away as I track vocals.
