… going nuts …

I’ve been recording the guitar tracks to the song “Demons to Diamonds” and I’ve encountered some intonation issues with one of my guitars. I tune my guitars to various unnamed tunings somewhere in between Lightning Hopkins and a baritone guitar. I have no idea what the notes are. I think I wrote them down once … a long time ago. Needless to say – it is very difficult for me to get this guitar “in tune”.

Anyway …

I busted out my set of mini-files and filed down the saddles on the nut of the guitar to bring some of the first frets back in tune. It worked reasonably well and I was able to track a few more guitar parts tonight. It’s not done yet … but it’s getting there.

I’ve also kept backups of the various versions of the song dating back to over a year ago and after listening back to an earlier version of the song I realized that I was playing one of the parts wrong! Maybe that’s why I’ve been having a heck of a time getting this one done.
