I’m trucking away on this week’s song currently called “clouds and sun”<\/a>. I’ve come up with a third section and a tentative structure for the song, but the whole thing ends up being over five minutes. I feel like it’s missing a fourth piece … so what the heck does that mean? I repeat the two sections I started with before hitting the new third part. Maybe I should ditch the repeat and go for a more linear song than a traditional one. I’m totally fine with that; I used to write almost all my songs this way.<\/p>\n

BUT … if I come up with the fourth section and<\/em> keep the repeat, I’m looking at like a six or seven minute song. I’m not super into that, but maybe working with a drummer and bass player will liven up a song of that length. They may bring something to the table that justifies that length.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
