Ok … so I’m building up a catalog of new material for the record and I’m seeing a distinct devision between “songs” and “ideas”. I’m going to define “songs” as items that posses about 95% of a completed structure. Ideas are everything else. Given those constraints … let’s see here …<\/p>\n

It looks like I have about 5 “songs” and over 12 additional “ideas”. The ideas range from 30 seconds to almost 2 minutes. I’d like to keep writing new songs under my one week<\/a> credo for a little while longer and see what happens. Then I will start picking from the “ideas” and try and elaborate on them.<\/p>\n

One issue with my current way of doing things is that I haven’t been naming these stupid things. They are all just numbers (0-whatever) and I can’t remember which is which. I guess it helps me not play favorites at this point. I’m going back over the tracks as I write this and I just realized that I forgot an entire song!
