I think I may be close to getting this one finished up, and then it&#8217;s on to the vocal tracks.  <\/p>\n<p>The song (like the record itself) is a strange combination of real miked instruments and synthesized ones.  All of the sounds blend together pretty tightly in a layered fashion and when I can&#8217;t fit the pieces together one way, I try something else.  Digital &#8230; analog &#8230; miked &#8230; synthesized.  Whatever.  Heck, I used to record <em>all<\/em> my guitar tracks direct into a cassette four track and crank the gain to get distortion.  Maybe that gives something more &#8220;street cred&#8221;.  At this point, I&#8217;m just going to get the sounds I want and I don&#8217;t care how I get there.<\/p>\n<p>Ok &#8230; so I&#8217;m <em>not<\/em> going to use Autotune.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got back into recording the guitar tracks for &#8220;Demons to Diamonds&#8221; today.
