I thought I would give <a href=\"http:\/\/armanbohn.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/20\/atlantian-guitar-track-tests\/\">Guitar Rig 3<\/a> (a software guitar amp) a try and I fooled around with it for a while &#8230; but I ended up just going back to my real amp setup.  <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always like really dry direct guitar sounds when recording.  I grew up recording my electric guitar direct into a <a href=\"http:\/\/armanbohn.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/23\/my-first-multitrack-recording-devicemt-100ii\/\">cassette four track<\/a> with a crappy distortion pedal.  This sound has stuck with me and is in several songs on <a href=\"http:\/\/armanbohn.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/23\/both-eureka-farm-albums-online\/\">&#8220;Analog&#8221;<\/a>.  The newer guitar plugins for digital recording can sound pretty awful in a great way if you know what your after.<\/p>\n<p>This in <em>not<\/em> what I&#8217;m after for &#8220;No Escape!&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll take some time and get the real sounds I want.
