There are green, red and black lines crawling through the image.<\/p>\n<p>Not cool.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had to rewire the VGA cable on this baby a few times.  The VGA cable is <em>built into<\/em> the monitor itself, so if it goes bad I guess you are just suppose to toss the monitor.  <\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t want to trash mine.  <\/p>\n<p>I picked up a replacement D-sub 15-pin connector after the built in cable first started going bad and figured out which wires connected to which pin. <\/p>\n<p>This wasn&#8217;t easy.  There were more than ten different <em>tiny<\/em> wires and my soldering iron is as dull as a baseball bat.  After hitting a few foul balls, I finally got it working again and it has held up fine for about a year.<\/p>\n<p>It started freaking out again today and I realized that the cable wasn&#8217;t the problem anymore &#8230; the problem was inside the LCD itself.  <\/p>\n<p>Bad cable + Bad montitor = More consumerism<\/p>\n<p>It looks like I will be picking up a new LCD sometime soon so I don&#8217;t have to work on my music and films on a 12&#8243; or 10.2&#8243; laptop screen.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While working on a number of scenes from the &#8220;No Escape!&#8221; video today, my LCD monitor gave up the ghost.
