… 6×4 …

I managed to (g)eek out just a little bit more “solar sailor” today. Not much, but it’s the kind of progress I know will inspire me on my ride to/from work tomorrow. The original two sections of the song are in a truncated sounding 7/8 beat. I manage to follow those up with a long bass line in 4/4 that lasts six measures before the repeat. It’s a nice contrast going from the short looping oddity of the first sections to the familiar yet drawn out meter of the new section.

It actually sounds pretty bad right now … but I like the idea of it.

I also received word today that the next video game soundtrack I’ll be working on is a go! That’s good news. I’ll probably end up using the proceeds from that to fund this album.
